I've been running Windows 10 since its public launch and not had a problem until now. Suddenly it's started write protecting USB drives when I plug them in. I've just tried another, old Kingston Data Traveler USB drive knowing that it's good quality and never let me down, and also knowing that the data on it is not important. I plugged it in and had the same message stating that there was something wrong with the drive and instructing me to repair. I ignored the message and the drive window opened, I have deleted folders and am currently writing £Gb of data to it with no problem.

So, the problem appears to be Windows 10 determining that there are non-existent problems on the flash drive and the repair process locking them.

Now all I need to do is to try and reverse the write protection on these two drives. I've tried the cmd and regedit methods with no success.
