WordPad is a word processor software with basic formatting options, and it is included in all versions of the OS since Windows 95 onwards. It has always been there, but never really used much. Wordpad uses the .rtf or Rich Text Format file extension, to save files by default. But it can save documents in .docx (Office Open XML), ODT (Open Document), .txt (Text) formats too.

Reset WordPad settings to default

We have seen how to reset Notepad settings – now let us see how to reset WordPad settings to default in Windows 10. But before you begin, you may want to create a system restore point or backup your Registry.

To reset Wordpad settings to its default, close Wordpad, and Run regedit to open the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionAppletsWordpad

In the left pane, you will see Options. Delete this Options key.

Now when you open Wordpad, you will see it with its default settings.

One Write plus was an accounting program from the early 1990's and support was discontinued as of January 31, 2006. While I have no personal experience with the program, it is unlikely that it was ever 32-bit. It is much more likely that it was a 16-bit program and this is why you are having trouble installing and running it on a 64-bit installation of Windows 7.

If your program or its installation application is a 16 bit based program and you have a 64 bit version of Windows it simply will not run natively regardless of compatiblity settings. You will need to run and installVirtual PC in XP Mode to have any chance of a fully operational 16 bit subsystem. If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, you can use Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC without a second Windows license.
